6 Things You Need for College 2022

6 Things You Need for College 2022

The start of school is just around the corner, so whether it’s your first year of college or you’re a returning student, it’s important to be as prepared as you can be for the most successful year possible! While you’re at it, don’t forget to pack your Parissa at-home waxing essentials so you can skip the salon prices and wax yourself in the comfort of your own dorm room!

A Good Laptop

A good, reliable laptop is a vitally important tool for all college students. It’s stressful enough trying to meet deadlines, complete projects and write all those essays without having to worry about your old laptop giving out! We know old reliable has been with you for a long time but investing in a new laptop for college is worth it, trust us!

We love the MacBook Pro - It’s lightweight, fast, and connects to all other Apple products if you’re already an Apple user.

Bedding Set and Pillows

Getting a good night's sleep is crucial, especially when recovering after an all-night cram session. It’s a good idea to grab yourself some new bedding to make your dorm room feel as cozy and as comfortable as possible. Bed Bath & Beyond always has amazing 3-piece comforter sets at great, affordable prices to fit a student’s budget!

Beauty

Sleeping and working are all fine and dandy, but that’s not all that college is about! Getting out into the real world, expressing yourself and finding who you are is an important part of the college experience. Don’t forget to pack the beauty essentials you need to be your best self!

Hair

Keeping your hair clean can be tricky when you’re always busy with school and social expectations. So, while buying yourself shampoo and conditioner are both important, getting yourself a good dry shampoo for those days (or two, or three) that you don’t have time to shower is important, too! Amikais our go-to brand for all things hair related and we love that they pledge to be net zero by 2030!

Skin

Your 20s are when you should start to look after your skin (if you haven’t started already). Introducing retinol, collagen and sunscreen into your daily routine is a great way to ensure you have beautiful, healthy skin for as long as possible! If you don’t exfoliate yet, now is the time to start - check out the Parissa Ingrown Rescue Kit for a 3 step exfoliating routine. While you’re at it, pack a few face masks, for a fun and easy way to take care of your skin. You could even host a spa night to get to know your new dorm-mates!

Hair Removal

Parissa has really great at-home wax kits that are easy to pack and super convenient to use. The Parissa Mini Pro Wax Warmer is a great addition to any dorm room as it is compact, easy to clean, and will heat your favourite wax beads, Hot Wax, Sugar Wax, and Warm Wax to the perfect temperature, and keep them that way throughout your waxing session!

If you’re looking for an even easier waxing solution, grab some Parissa Wax Strips. Just heat the Wax Strips by rubbing them between your palms and the gentle, cream-based wax is ready for use - no need for a heater, microwave, or stovetop. Available in perfectly sized ready-to-use strips for every area of your body!

Room Décor

Your bedroom is your sanctuary and that’s as true at your parent's house as it is at college! It doesn’t matter if you’re living in a dorm room, a sorority house, or an apartment with friends you need to feel comfortable in your space while studying, sleeping, or just hanging out. Fill your room with items that speak to you and bring you joy - follow your gut! Don’t forget the personal photos, area rugs, pillows, curtains, closet organizers and posters. Getting the right decor for your bedroom is key to making the space yours! School

Supplies

Unfortunately, college isn’t just about cute accessories for your bedroom, so you need to remember to buy the classroom essentials while you’re back-to-school shopping. We are talking about your binders, pencils, pens, notebooks, calculators and erasers. Oh, and don’t forget a cute backpack to carry it all in! Mentality/Motivation Last but certainly not least, you’re going to need to keep your spirits up and stay motivated! College is fun, but it’s also a lot of hard work. Do your best to stay positive, practice self-care, and keep pushing yourself forward when it gets tough. It’s all going to be worth it in the end. We believe in you!

Hopefully, by making your space your own, you will be able to relax and unwind after a long day of classes. Don’t forget to stop and look around once in a while - these are the experiences that memories are made of!

We don’t talk about it very much, but everyone has it. There’s nothing wrong with it nor is there anything shameful about it. We should normalize it, and whether you choose to keep it, natural, groom it, or remove it should be entirely up to you and nobody else!
