Parissa is family-owned and located on the West Coast of Canada. Everything we do is with care, aiming for the lowest impact on earth’s resources. Parissa products are made with ingredients, packaging and components that are sustainable and ethically sourced.
All our containers and packaging are intentionally made with materials that are easily recyclable or sustainably harvested. The paper we use for all our boxes, instructions and promotional materials is produced from wood harvested from responsibly managed forests certified by either Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), or Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC).
Parissa is proud to be a member of The Leaping Bunny Program, a program that administers a cruelty-free standard for companies producing cosmetic, personal care and household products. It provides the best assurance that no animal testing is used in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories or suppliers. The Leaping Bunny Program is the only internationally recognized program of its kind.
We use the same ethics of sustainability when sourcing all our ingredients so you can feel confident about the products you choose. Parissa’s ingredients are safe, gentle and from natural, sustainable sources. Our waxes are made from simple ingredients like tree resin, cane sugar, beeswax, vegetable oils and plant extracts. Don’t worry, we only use the good stuff. To check out more about our ingredients, visit our ingredients page.

We are very proud to be a woman-owned business and even after 36 years remain a family operated company. Azar Moayeri, a chemical engineer from Iran, founded Parissa after noticing all the hair removal products available contained harmful chemicals. Looking for a natural alternative, Azar cooked the wax in her kitchen and started selling it at local events in Vancouver, Canada. Azar founded the company with a commitment to sustainability and integrity that continues today. To learn more, visit our About Us page.
