Self Care During the Holidays

Self Care During the Holidays

Holiday season and we are already on the red zone?  The calendar is getting busy between dinner parties, holiday shopping and end of year project wrapping?

What moment could be better for self-care night?

How does self-care nights work, exactly? Well, that’s one of the greatest parts of it - you get to tailor your self-care regime to best suit your interests, needs and personality!

Cook Your Favourite Holiday Meal

Spoil yourself, cook your favourite festive meal, or order something delicious in from your favourite restaurant. Allow yourself to eat something you wouldn’t normally indulge in during the rest of the year. The holidays are all about doing what feels (and tastes) good!

Bath Time

Who doesn’t enjoy a good soak in the tub? Treat yourself to a bubble bath or use your favourite bath salts to take your bath to the next level. Lighting some candles to set a mood for yourself can also have huge calming effects.

If you’re looking for new bath-time essentials check out Solitude Living Bath Kit and Mala the Brand for amazing candles!

Skin Care Routine

Skincare tends to be something we “need” to do, a necessity we typically rush through. This holiday season, slow down, take your time, and treat yourself to an at-home facial!

Our favourite masks are from Masque BAR. They do masks for everything, face, hands, feet, eye patches, lip masks - you name it! The Shield & Soothe PPE Facial Hydrogel Mask is designed to soothe and hydrate stressed-out skin, while the Hydro Gel Hydrating Eye Patch Coffee Mask instantly reduces puffiness!

Okoko Cosmetics has incredible serum solutions to address any skin issues you may be experiencing.

Last but certainly not least, the foundation of any good skincare routine is the facial cleanser! We recommend trying the Soy Ph-Balanced Hydrating Face Wash from Fresh or the Salicylic Acid Cleanser from the Inkey List.

Hair Care Routine

Can you remember the last time you really washed your hair? I mean REALLY washed it? Give your head some extra love with a proper deep clean by adding hair care to your holiday self-care regime - and while you’re at it, why not take a moment to deal with your hair, everywhere?

Head

After you’ve finished washing your hair, give yourself a scalp massage as you apply one of our favourite deep-hydrating hair masks Ouai Hair Treatment Masque or Maui Moisture Shea Butter

Eyebrows

The salon-quality vegan, fragrance-free and mess-free precision Brow Waxing Pen from Parissa is a must-have for shaping the perfect brows.

Legs

Parissa Legs & Body Organic Sugar Wax is certified USDA Organic, all-natural and gentle on sensitive skin as it targets unwanted hair at the root. Easily washes away with water to make for a super simple clean-up, so nothing will stress you during the festive season.

Upper Lip

Reveal glowing skin in two simple steps with the Parissa Face & Lip Wax Strips. These gentle, ready-to-use cream-based wax strips are the perfect size for your chin, jawline, and upper lip.

Underarm

Parissa Brazilian & Underarm Hot Wax is made with nourishing beeswax and is perfect for the delicate skin in your underarm area, or down below.

Hair Trimmer

If you’re not ready for full-on hair removal, our favourite tools for trimming are The Lawn Mower and the Weed Whacker from Manscaped!

Lastly, don’t forget to just relax, take it easy, and enjoy doing the things that you love. Whether that is going for a long walk, watching a good movie, or diving into a new book, let yourself become fully immersed and don’t stress about your to-do list for the busy season. Now is the time to take care of your needs, and your needs only! Your only to-do today is YOU!

If you’re looking for a good book, we highly recommend The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides or Verityby Colleen Hoover.

We all have a lot going on during the holidays, but no matter how busy your schedule is, it’s important to take out a little time for yourself. After all, how can you expect yourself to take care of the things that need to be done, if you don’t first take care of yourself? Self care holiday routines means making a little time for YOU.
