How Long Does Waxing Last?

When the sun starts to shine and you break out your favourite flip flops, do you paint toes with your favourite red even though you know it will start chipping in a couple of days, or do you go all out with a gel polish so it looks great for a couple of weeks, without having to think about it?

How about when its time to put on your swimsuit? We all know shaving can be a full time job because the stubble never seems to stop. On the other hand, waxing gives you smooth skin without a second thought for around 4 weeks!

Here is what you probably didn’t know!

Since waxing removes hair from the root, results last much longer than shaving and other methods. Generally speaking, waxing provides smoothness for about 4 weeks. But everyone’s different, so results can vary anywhere from 2 - 6 weeks, depending on your hair type. Longer results aren’t the only benefit: over time hair growth is reduced and becomes softer and sparser since regular waxing weakens the hair follicles.

Bikini waxing (just like plucking your eyebrows) gets less painful over time. The reason for this is that waxing (and tweezing – but who is tweezing down there?!), pulls the hair out from the root. Overtime this practice loosens your hair follicles making the process much easier and less painful. At the same time, the hair grows back finer and thinner each time you wax. Seriously, google it! We aren’t making this stuff up!

With shaving, in your bikini area, or any other part of your body, you are snipping the hair at the surface of the skin which means your regrowth will be faster – just a few days - and you will not see any change to the texture of your hair.
