So what’s the difference between a Hard Wax and a Soft Wax?

Well, one difference is the format of the wax. Hard Waxes are “hard” to the touch – so just like candle wax, they’re solid at room temperature. To use a Hard Wax, you’ll first need to melt the wax, which is why Hard Waxes are also sometimes called a “Hot Wax”.

Hard Waxes are applied in a thick layer, in the direction of hair growth. As the wax cools, the Hard Wax “entraps” and “wraps” the hair. No strips are needed since the Hard Wax itself is pulled off or peeled to remove the unwanted hair.

With Soft Wax, the process is a bit different: the wax is applied in a paper-thin layer and in the same direction as hair growth. Next, an epilation strip is applied to remove the wax and unwanted hair.
