10 Things You Need To Know About Body Hair

10 Things You Need To Know About Body Hair

Body hair is natural and normal. That being said, both men and women can experience unwanted hair on their chin, cheeks, upper lip, and of course their brows. The good news is there are a variety of options to help remove any unwanted hair.

  1. Be confident.

Confidence is the best beauty tool. You’re beautiful just the way you are, and more than likely, that annoying facial fuzz is more visible to you than others.
  2. Hormones and age impact facial hair growth.

Hormonal changes and age can impact the amount and texture of facial hair. Unfortunately, facial hair growth can increase and become coarser with age.
  3. You have options.

Waxing is one of the most effective ways to address unwanted facial hair. And if you’re doing it at home, it’s likely the least expensive option as well. Unlike shaving, waxing provides a longer-term solution and doesn’t result in stubbly regrowth. Waxing can also address both coarse and light hair whether white, light or dark. Although laser can effectively deal with the dark hairs, it is unable to detect the grey or white facial hair.
  4. Choose the right product for the right area.

Tweezing can be effective for dark, coarse hairs that are easy to see and grab. Many women routinely pluck their eyebrows and the odd dark hair from other facial areas. Tweezing will not be a good option for smoothing out the skin and removing fine facial fuzz.

  5. Home vs Salon.

Wax strips are a great option for beginners or anyone who has never tried waxing at home. The Parissa Face & Lip Wax Strips are quick and easy to use for facial hair removal.
  6. Safety & Sensitivity.

Your upper lip is more sensitive than your brows and lighter hair is more easily removed than coarse. Laser may work well for upper-lip but isn’t recommended for brows. Bleaches or chemical creams may work for some but can cause skin sensitivity in others. Hot Waxes are effective for short and coarse hairs while sugar waxes are generally the most gentle option for fine hair or 'peach fuzz' on the face.
  7. Check ingredients.

If you’re concerned about harmful ingredients, stay away from hair bleaches or chemical ingredients. Tweezing or threading may be good alternatives. Sugar waxes and natural waxes can be great options too. Read the labels on your products to find the most natural options if you’re concerned about sensitivity. All Parissa Waxes are 100% natural.
  8. Technique matters.

The effectiveness of your facial hair removal method depends on technique. If you’re going to a salon, make sure it’s reputable or if you’re doing your own waxing, make sure you read the instructions carefully. Practice and the right technique can help reduce discomfort.
  9. Regrowth & Results.

With Tweezing, Epilators and Threading, hair is removed from the root with regrowth being softer, finer and weaker than before. Over time, the process becomes easier, less painful quicker and more effective. Waxing your upper lip, the jaw or eyebrows will give you smooth skin for 2- 4 weeks between treatments although regrowth can be different for everyone.
  10. Maintenance is key.

Gently exfoliating your face on a regular basis will not only help you to remove dead skin, but it will also make hair removal more effective. Skip exfoliating scrubs the day of hair removal, but regular exfoliation will improve overall skin by preventing and reducing in-grown hairs. The Ingrown Rescue Kit comes with everything you need for keeping your skin soft and smooth.
