Heavenly

I was surprised how well this wax worked. There was little to no pain. The end results were better than going to a professional. Easy to use and the price is so affordable. Fantastic definitely going to continue using this wax!

Hi, thanks for the parissa praise! So glad you like it and are having "better than pro results" (btw: our Chamomile Body Sugar is the same formula we use for our Professional Series Body Sugar )

Here's a little tip for you - Because sugar-based wax is water washable, you can re-use the fabric strips!  Simply rinse them with warm water and hang them over your towel rack to dry.

Great wax, what about refills?

I really liked this product, it worked really well for me. I was wondering though if it is possible to just buy the body sugar as a refill, instead of re-buying the whole kit each time.

Thanks.

REPLY to what about refills?

Hi, thanks for the parissa love (we think the body sugar is pretty great too ).

If you want to buy the Chamomile Body Sugar a la carte you can order our Professional Size http://parissa.com/catalog/product/body-sugar-pro , although you want to keep in mind that it comes in a metal tin.

Warming the Sugar Wax

I absolutely LOVE this product and use it all the time! However, I need some help with warming the sugar wax. I would rather not microwave it and had been placing the plastic container in a pot of shallow boiling water with the lid off. Unfortunately, the last time I did this, it tipped over and water got in, ruining the wax. I saw the warmer for sale on your website and read a review that encouraged one person to use a coffee maker to warm the wax. Is the coffee maker method recommended for the plastic container as well? Is your warmer designed to warm the plastic container without melting it? Any more ideas on how to warm my sugar wax? It's a beautiful and easy product to use. I'm VERY satisfied!

REPLY to warming the sugar wax

Hi,
Yes, your sugar wax is in a heat-safe container, designed to handle a low temperature warming unit, like our wax warmer or being heated in the microwave (as per instructions), without melting.
Both your coffee maker warming pad and our wax warmer are perfect ways to soften your Chamomile Body Sugar safely. Please feel free to call us directly if you have any morw questions @ 1.888.986.9974

no microwave

Is there a way to heat the body sugar to the correct liquid, honey-like consistency without a microwave?

No microwave

you can use a lamp and warm it under there for 20 minutes or you could buy an actual parissa wax warmer, that they use at salons

How do you wash the cloths?

How do you wash away the wax from the strip to re use it again?

I just run mine under hot

I just run mine under hot water and it melts the sugar away. Put them in the sink; they should be clean within a few minutes.

REPLY: how to wash the cloth

For all sugar based waxes, you can simply run the applicator strips under lukewarm water, rubbing gently, until the sugar dissolves, then hang the strips to dry.

Heating

if i were to use microwave, do I have to heat over again for 2-3 times in the mist of the process since I don't have the warmer?

if not how should I maintain the stickiness or it will do just fine with 1 time heating?

Thanks!

REPLY TO Heating

Yes, you can heat the sugar over and over. It's important to keep the correct consistency of the product for maximum effectiveness. You want the sugar to be like liquid honey so that you can spread it paper thin.

face?

I have tried hot waxes in the past on my upper lip and chin, and they always irritate my skin with little pimple-like bumps. I have been using a Nair removal cream, which burns my skin. Is the sugar safe to use for the face? Also, what is the effectiveness like for brazillian? I have been getting professional brazillan waxes and sugar treatments for a few years now, so the hair is very fine. I am looking to avoid spending 75$ at the salon to remove very minimal hair growh in that area.

REPLY TO: face?

Yes. One of the beautiful things about Parissa Chamomile Body Sugar, is that it's so natural you could eat it. By natural, I mean there are NO chemicals in it at all, which means NO burns! It is definitely gentle enough to use on your face.
Brazilian waxing is a little different, but depending on your particular hair growth, and the fact that you've obviously been having it done for some time now - you may very well find the sugar will do just fine for your bikini area too.
Give it a try, and if you have any difficulty or questions about it, just give me a call and we'll make sure you get the best product for your needs @ 1.888.986.9974

LOVE IT

When I was about 16 decided I really REALLY hated shaving. (Shavers end up in the landfill and take forever to biodegrade, I always cut myself, you have stubble the next day, AND shavers are great breeding ground for bacteria with luffed of skin & hair cells and moisture to reproduce in)

So I started getting professionally waxed on a regular basis, but when i moved out my disposable income was cut significantly. I figured how hard could it be to wax myself? I felt slightly overwhelmed when I went to find a wax product. This was the wax I chose. Ultimately when it came down to the final decision between this product and others, I chose this one because it was made in Canada (BC specifically)and was still reasonably priced.

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. I use it for my legs and bikini area and have had NO problems with its effectiveness (I do have finer hair). I've been using THIS wax for 2 years now, and I'm happy to see that my hair is becoming EVEN finer. I've also been converting the shave-holics like my Mom and best friend who now also use the product and perfer it over shaving. (They also use the washable variety and haven't had any problems with it's effectiveness) Thanks for making such a great product!

SO HAPPY!!

I LOVE the sugar wax!! I'm so glad I found it as my local store stopped selling it (??) I tried the Parissa quick & easy face and bikini strips. They worked but not as well. Had to go over the same area a few times to remove all the hair and the clean up isn't as easy. I have used the sugar wax and love it. Works well and just melts away with water. I've used it on legs, bikini area, brows and upper lip. I'm gonna order some right now!!

I was sort of dissappointed

I was sort of dissappointed with this product, Usually I shave or epilate unwanted hair and I tried sugar waxing for the first time. It wouldn't remove all the hairs and it took me forever to wax just one underarm.

RE: sort of disappointed

Thanks for your feedback. Please feel free to contact me directly @ 1.888.986.9974 as every Parissa product is 100% guaranteed, and I'd like to find out what went wrong for you and make sure you're satisfied.
Sometimes when switching from shaving to waxing, the hair can be resistant - particularly the coarse hair we have in our underarms and bikini line - it's important to let the hair grow for 2 weeks, or until it's about 1/4" long, so that the wax can effectively grab it. After repeated waxing, the hair will begin to grow in finer and less resistant.
It may also be that you would be better suited with a stronger wax, like our warm wax, or hot wax. Either way, please give me a call and we'll figure it out. :)

Have a great day!

Not for all hair types

I have used Parissa "warm wax" for a few years now and I love it. The only thing that bothered me was the impossible stickiness of the wax. So I thought I'd give washable body sugar a try. To be honest, I am a frusterated with the product. It doesn't get the coarse hairs as well as the warm wax does. After about ten tries, I was getting a maximum of 50% of the coarse hairs. It doesn't do fine hairs all that well either, but at least it does something there. I tried different temperatures and different thickness. It's true that the thinner the layer the better. And you really have to press the strip to your skin in a motion going with the growth of hair. For my sisters with coarse hair, stick with "warm wax." Clean up may stink but it's wayyy better than having to go over and pluck all the hairs the body sugar missed.

THANKS SO MUCH

I have not found anything else that even comes close to the body/leg strips wax. I have such sensitive skin and pretty much have tried all products on the market and it is just painful and I get lots of ingrown hair. For years I used the salon until I became so sensitive to the burns and the heat from the wax my body could no longer take it. I have tried the epilady, electric shavers, electrolysis ( in some areas only) electric tweezers , cold waxes , hot waxes you name it and it is just a nightmare never ready , never smooth skin until there is the Parissa ready wax strips ; easy to use, painless and mess free. Easily cleaned wax residue. THANKS SO MUCH.

It is a great product. Works

It is a great product. Works well, does not aggrevate the skin and love the fact that I can wash it right away.
One thing I would like to see with packaging is to be able to buy only the sugar wax bottle. I have tons of strips and applicators at this point, and I would not like to continue to pay for more.

I use the sugar wax kit. It's

I use the sugar wax kit. It's the best! The strips clean and are re-usable. The wax washes off with water - no mess! And no bumps or ingrown hairs! It's the best stuff and easy to use and no more paying for sugar appointments
