You’ve been admiring the seemingly perfect shape of your friend's brows for years. How do they do it? Well, shaping and maintaining brows isn’t as scary as you might think. We’re going to show you how.
If you do your own makeup, then you can learn to wax your own brows.
We promise, it’s not scary to wax your own brows. People usually have two big fears about waxing their own brows: finding the perfect shape and making them perfectly symmetrical. Well, your face isn’t symmetrical, so don’t expect your brows to be either. When it comes to finding the perfect shape - don’t worry - it’s already there.
1. Before you start: Choosing the Right Product and Tools.
What are your brow waxing needs? Are you shaping or maintaining? If you’re maintaining or if need to remove large amounts of hair, use Parissa Brow Shaper Wax Strips. For smaller, confined areas or precision shaping, try the Parissa Face & Brow Waxing Pen.
If you’re a beginner or apprehensive, start with brow maintenance and choose Parissa Brow Shaper (Mini Wax Strips). These tiny pre-waxed strips require no heating or spreading, so they’re quick and easy to use.
If you’re more experienced, looking for precision shaping or if you have very stubborn hair, then the Parissa Brow Waxing Pen is the solution for you. The tapered and slender tip of the pen dispenses salon wax precisely on the contours of the brow and even on individual strands of hair.
2. Preparing the Eyebrow.
Sitting in front of a mirror, use an eyebrow brush, toothbrush or clean mascara wand to brush your brows upwards into its natural shape. Using the scissors, trim long or unruly hairs that extend beyond the edges of your eyebrow.
3. Applying the Wax.
Now that you’ve outlined the natural shape of your brows, all that’s left is to remove the unwanted hairs outside the outlined area to uncover your beautiful brows.
If you’re using the Parissa Brow Shapers (Mini Wax Strips), cut the strips with scissors to separate each mini strip. Gently rub the strip between your fingers and slowly peel apart the strip to reveal two applications.
When using the Parissa Brow Waxing Pen, first heat the product as directed. Twist the pen until a small drop of wax appears on the tip. Spot apply the wax in small section, create a thin layer.
4. Azulene Oil and Post waxing skincare.
Similar to tweezing the eyebrows, it’s normal to have some redness following your treatment. Don't worry, this will disappear within 20 minutes. Applying the provided Azulene Oil also helps reduce redness and soothe the skin.
For both the Parissa Brow Shaper Wax Strips and the Parissa Brow Waxing Pen: Clean excess wax away with oil (provided in kit) and not with water.
5. At-Home Brow Waxing is cost effective and quick.
Your first attempt at brow waxing may take 20 minutes or so, but with practice, you'll be a super savvy brow shaper in no time. Think of all the time and hassles you’ll save not having to make appointments, travelling to salons or finding parking! Even if you prefer going to the salon for your brow shaping, why not try maintaining do your own brows by touching up the esthetician’s design?
