• Is Waxing Better Than Shaving?

    We certainly think so!
In fact we wonder why anyone would risk razor cuts, for hair removal that only lasts a few days.
Waxing is sanitary, effective and the results last for weeks. Not only that - you can do it just about anywhere.

  • What's the best product for me?

We created a Product Picker - just for you. Simply click HERE and answer 3 questions about the area you want to wax, your hair type, and what style of hair removal is most important to you. Voila! You'll get your answer instantly!

  • How long will it last?

Generally speaking, waxing lasts about 4 weeks. However, everyone is different and results can vary anywhere from 3 - 6 weeks, depending on your hair type.

  • Will it hurt?

Any time you pull hair out at the root, you are likely to feel some discomfort (think of pulling off a bandage), but the initial sensation only lasts a few seconds. Naturally, you may experience some discomfort when waxing sensitive areas and first time waxing can feel more tender. It gets easier over time as the hair becomes weaker and finer the more you wax it. [Read more] for some tips to minimize pain:

  • Is it difficult to do on myself?

No. It can be surprisingly easy to wax yourself, once you've become familiar with the technique.

Some areas are easier to to than others, for example: waxing your legs is a simple straight-away and a great place to start honing your waxing skills.

When you feel comfortable handling the wax, then move to an area like your underarm or bikini, which are areas that tend to have more bends.

Much like riding a bike, as soon as you've got it - you've got it!

Don't be afraid, if your hands can reach it, then they can wax it too.

  • Help, How do I clean up a mess?

    No problem!

Our Body Sugar is washable - meaning it rinses away with water.

Our Salon and Express Waxes clean up with any type of oil (canola, vegetable etc). If you've dripped or spilled the wax, you can either scrape it up with a spatula, or heat it with a blow dryer and wipe it away - then clean any remaining residue by applying some oil and rubbing.

  • What if I make a mistake?

You won't - if you read the instruction sheets carefully before starting and follow the steps as we've outlined them.
However, if you find yourself in a sticky situation, you can call us directly and speak to a real person in our customer care department.

  • Will I be red and bumpy afterward?

It's common to experience some redness or spots for a short time after hair removal, similar to tweezing. Generally, these effects dissipate after an hour or two, depending on your complexion and skin sensitivity. If you are new to waxing, redness or bumps may last longer, but decrease over time with each subsequent time you wax.

  • Why do I have to do a patch test?

A patch test (pre-testing the product on a small patch of skin) will give you the confidence to proceed (or not) with your waxing by ensuring whether it is safe to do so.

Parissa uses natural food-grade ingredients in all our products, to minimize any potential reaction, but because everyone's skin is different at a test patch will let you know for certain.
