I just used a warm wax on my legs, I waited 2 weeks for the hair to grow out and everything. After waxing and putting the oil on my legs they feel prickly like after shaving! And they feel prickly EVERYWHERE, it's not like I just missed spots here and there, they're definitely prickly where I waxed. What did I do wrong?

I asked this question quite a while ago. You were really helpful, and I was sent some of the pre-waxed strips to try. They were really neat, but I ran into the same problem again, still prickly. Now that it is getting warmer outside, I'm looking to waxing again to save me from the horrors of shaving, but with my lack of luck with the last 2 products, I'm not really sure what to try. I see that you mentioned trying a hot wax, but I'm really nervous about burning myself as my skin is pretty sensitive to heat. Would a hot wax by my best option? Or is there something else you would recommended trying? I really HATE shaving and want to find an alternate that will work.

The Soft Gel would have been the perfect product for your first time bikini hair removal. Unfortunately, since you've shaved, you will need to wait until your hair is about 1/4" (1/2 cm) long before you can wax it. We'd love to help you, but really, the only way to have your bikini smooth again by this Saturday is if you reshave or use a chemical depilatory. Neither of these options are good options...but if you have to, you have to. Please contact us either toll-free @ 1.888.986.9974 or via email: before you wax your bikini for additional tips or assistance.

Soft gel after shaving?

Hi, I shaved my bikini area for the first time in my life yesterday, and today I'm already prickly. Can I wait 3 or 4 days and use the Tea Tree Soft Gel, which I just bought today? I know one is supposed to wait 2 weeks, but I need/want to have smooth skin by Saturday if that's possible!

Prickly After Waxing

Thank you for your comment. It is unusual that you feel prickly right after waxing. It seems that your hair must have broken at the shaft instead of being removed from the root. There are 2 reasons why this could have happened: 1) Your hair broke during waxing because your hair is extremely dry and brittle or 2) Your hair was too long and broke rather than being removed from the root. Here is a solution for you: Wait about 4-5 days after waxing, making sure you have no more than 1/2 cm or 1/8 inch of hair growth, then wax. This should remove the hair right from the root. If you continue to have the same problem, we will gladly replace the warm wax with the Parissa Hot Wax. The Parissa Hot Wax is specially formulated for extremely short, coarse and stubborn hair, it should remove even the shortest prickliest hair you have. Let us know if you were can always contact us toll-free @ 1.888.986.9974 if you need more assistance. Thanks, Parissa Customer Care.
