I happily use Parissa hot wax (and now that my hairs are weaker, body sugar and even soft gel) on my bikini line and the upper part of my pubic hair (the "mound").

But I have tried on several occasions to wax my outer labia and have never been successful. I found that it was physically difficult to pull the hairs out, because they were so coarse and deeply rooted. I had to slowly and gradually yank at the wax/strip because I literally couldn't pull it off quickly in one go. As I'm sure you can imagine, this was excruciatingly painful. I tried taking ibuprofen and using "No Scream Cream" to no avail.

I don't know what to do. I want to be able to wax everywhere, but I just can't do it. I'm afraid to go to a salon because I don't know if a professional will have any more luck than me, and I don't want to put up with the pain of having her yank at the sensitive area the way I had to. I don't know if it's my hair, my technique or the products I'm using that is the problem.

Does anyone have any tips, advice, or stories to share?

Thanks!

Manzillian

As I approached my 47th birthday and was feeling and looking better than I ever have, I decided it was time to get rid of all the gray hairs that were bringing me down every morning when I looked in the mirror. I made an appointment for the waxing of my chest, back, shoulders, upper arms and a complete Manzillian (Front & Back). Although I was experiencing a little anxiety the closer it got to my appointment time, I have to be honest and say that I actually found it quite relaxing being completely nude with a woman I had never met before and having all of this done.....it really was. The way she had the room made up with very low lighting with candles and her own personality are a lot of the reason it was so relaxing to me I'm sure. I would like to go back to her to have the waxing done again, but I found it to be quite expensive (at least to me). I'm thinking about giving it a try myself now that I have discovered this site. She used what she referred to as a "Hard Wax" in the crack area. Is this "Hard Wax" common practice for the waxing of that area in particular, because of it's sensitivity?

Me, too

Thank you Daphne, for posting this! I'm having the same trouble - when I get to the outer labia, I simply can't pull off the wax quickly like I can in other areas (I use the hot wax, too).

I haven't tried the baby powder yet, though, so... *crossing fingers*

REPLY TO: Never Brazilian Waxed...!

Good choice using the Parissa Hot Wax for your first Bikini Waxing experience. Remember to be confident. Our suggestion is that you first try waxing areas that are easier to see and less sensitive than going for a full brazilian. If you need tips or additional advise, please feel free to contact us toll-free @ 1.888.986.9974.
Good Luck,

Hi Daphne, Thanks for your

Hi Daphne,

Thanks for your email. I understand what you mean about the coarseness and deep rootedness of the hairs that run deep into the bikini line, labia etc. They are tough also because they grow in different directions.

I suggest staying with Parissa Hot Wax for two reasons:

1. it is particularly effective on coarse hair

2. it is surprisingly gentle on delicate skin.

I am more than happy to actually walk you through the procedure if you like. I have been a doing this for 18 years and specialized in brazilian waxing so you can trust me when I say that if you can reach it, I've waxed it! There are specific techniques to apply to brazilian waxing that will make it remarkably easy - certainly easier than you'd think. Please feel free to call me directly @ 1.888.986.9974 or email invitation@parissa.com Honestly, I'm happy to help.

I've been doing my own

I've been doing my own brazilian waxing for almost 10 years now. I would agree with the suggestions above: baby powder, small areas.
Also, make sure you take careful attention to the direction that the hair is growing in. This is also key to success (just like any other area of your body). Make sure you are always using both hands - one to pull the strip off and the other to provide some tension to the skin. This also cuts down on the ouch factor.
Hope that helps!

i use to go to the salon for

i use to go to the salon for my bikini waxes every 5 weeks, each time costing me $60 (after tip & gas needed to get to/from the salon). the first time i did my own full brazilian, it too me an hour. now, i'm able to do it in 20 minutes with the parissa hot wax and even quicker with the wax strips. the key for me is to 1) always work in small patches and 2) always wax AFTER having my period because i am far less sensitive than if i were to do it before or during.

I always work in really small

I always work in really small sections at a time, (like about 1" x 2") starting from the outside and slowly working my way inward. I also dust a layer of baby powder on first - cuz it helps me to see where I've already waxed (so I don't accidentally go over the same place twice) AND it takes the "ouch factor" down by about 50%!

It also helps to sit on the floor and use the door frame to brace my foot against, which helps hold my skin tight and frees both my hands for the task (and to occassionally take a needed break to sip wine).

I called the "care line" once, it's their "800" number...and the lady on the phone totally walked me through the whole process. You may want to try that too.

Now...the undercarriage and back door are a different story...

Good luck!
