Ski-Boys

The only thing that qualifies this entry as a "Men's Room" topic is that Pierre-Yves and I are both men and we had such a great day skiing that I had to post this picture. No other French-Canadian/Jamaican-Chinese can ski like this rude-boy. Here we are at the peak of Blackcomb getting ready to ski the back bowl of the glacier. The tree skiing was pretty phenomenal too. I wonder if there's a way to move the marketing office to Whistler.

Wax Factor - easing the ouch

Having satin-smooth skin that lasts for weeks at a time is one of the major advantages of waxing, especially as bikini season approaches! We think waxing is a walk in the park compared to something like wearing heels all day! But for any nervous waxing virgins out there, let us put your mind at ease with some Parissa tips to reduce the ouch-factor!

Before you start:

Innovators in the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics

Our friends at the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics just released their new report, Market Shift, and (drumroll please), Parissa is on the short list of companies that “broke the mold."   Here's the report: http://bit.ly/rqyvjj

The New "Award Winning" ECO-Home of Parissa Labs

*update* Parissa has just won another award for our facility! The City of North Vancouver's Desihn Excellence Award - honourable mention!

Its like breathing in nature itself.

We've just moved to our brand new eco-facility here in North Vancouver, BC, where every morning smells fresh and earthy. We're not just surrounded by nature, we're submerged in it, which is exactly part of the plan. Because we had the luxury of building from the ground up, we were able to take every possible effort to design our facility targeting LEED Gold Standards as our goal.

Guy-Brows, A low maintenance guide to gorgeous.

So, you're an average dude, bombarded with images, whispers and mysterious words about manscaping - and to be honest you barely know what most of it means. Or, more importantly, what it means to you. Here’s Parissa’s Waxing Guru speaking the truth about fixing the furry forehead.

Our Furry Little Friends

No, this is not going to be about male grooming, it's about one of the questions I often get from our customers, asking if we are vegetarian friendly.

Armpit Nirvana

I have to admit I hate using the term Arm Pit, but it sounded better than "the-area-under-your-arm-where-super-dark-coarse-hair-grows nirvana".  It feels like time to speak out about the divinity of not having to touch fingertips to the ceiling and blade to skin on a daily basis, just so I can wear tanks, tee's or tubes. Yes, I have thick hair, in fact I've grown more since I started typing - but the fact is that most of us have thick *ahem* armpit hair and inevitably have to shave it regularly.

Here's my advice - STOP THAT!

DeMystifying Waxing

What is it about the topic of waxing that brings out rumours, myths and horror stories? We think it's time to get that big hairy monster out from under the bed and debunk a few follicular fallacies, so here's The Waxing Guru speaking the truth about your unwarranted waxing worries.

Waxing Myth: "If I start waxing, my hair will grow back darker and thicker"

You deserve low maintenance soft skin.

Most of us are familiar with the basics: shaving, cream depilitories or going to the salon to get your waxing done. But if you've ever read a woman's magazine, you've likely also heard about do-it-yourself body waxing kits. So, why aren't you trying them? Perhaps it's not understanding exactly how well they work, or maybe uncertainty about how to do it yourself. Let's face it, nobody wants to spend time and money on something that isn't going to turn out. Fair enough.

How safe are your cosmetics?

Do you know what you are putting on your skin and into your environment? You may be surprised! Fortunately, it looks like the FDA is going to take some responsibility and change regulations to protect consumers.
